Biography
About me:
My background is working in public services in the NHS, in education and also for charities, as a health care professional.
I have a Masters degree in emotional aspects of disability and a diploma in psychotherapeutic counselling .
I work with adults and young people over 18 years of age, with a range of difficulties arising from emotional distress and a need to understand the difficulties they have.
I have extensive experience in a range of disabilities and illness, loss and bereavement, and autism spectrum condition (Asperger's syndrome).
I now work independently and there is further information about my work in the BACP directory

When the other person is hurting, confused, troubled, anxious, alienated, terrified; or when he or she is doubtful of self-worth, uncertain as to identity, then understanding is called for. The gentle and sensitive companionship of an empathic stance… provides illumination and healing. In such situations deep understanding is, I believe, the most precious gift one can give to another.
